Installing LibreKB

  • Ensure your hosting environment meets the system requirements.
  • Download the latest version from GitHub here.
  • Upload the files to your web server.
  • Delete the v1-to-v2-db-migration.php file. You will NOT need this file unless you're upgrading an old v1 install to v2.
  • Rename config.example.php to config.php and put in your MySQL database details, set the system URL, and SMTP for sending password reset emails.
  • Visit your knowledge base. If your server is configured properly, you should see a page titled "Database Setup Required".
  • Click the Run Installer button.
  • The Install page will check to ensure your hosting environment is compatible.
  • If the tests pass, you can fill in your admin user email and password, and then click Run Installer.
  • Once installation is complete, you can use your new LibreKB install!
